Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Flower CSA?

  • CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Our Flower CSA is a farm-to-vase program where members receive fresh, seasonal bouquets throughout the growing season. By joining, you're supporting local flower farming and enjoying the freshest blooms possible—often cut the same morning you receive them. You can think of this as a bouquet subscription.

How does the Pioneer Blooms CSA work?

  • Members purchase a share at the beginning of the season, which provides them with a weekly fresh bouquet throughout our growing season. Each week, we harvest what's blooming at its peak and create beautiful, seasonal arrangements for our members to enjoy.

When is the CSA season?

  • Our CSA season runs from May through September. As local flowers are weather-dependent, specific start and end dates are announced closer through the season.

What do I receive each week?

  • Each share includes a generous mixed bouquet featuring 10-12 stems of farm-fresh seasonal flowers. Bouquets vary week to week based on what's blooming, so you'll experience the full beauty of the season from spring tulips to summer zinnias to fall dahlias.

Where do I pick up my flowers?

  • Flowers are available for pickup at our farm on Thursdays, 4-7 pm, at 17210 S Henrici Rd, Oregon City, OR 97045.

Can I choose my pickup day?

  • Our harvest and design schedule is optimized for Thursday pickups to ensure maximum freshness.

What if I'm going to be out of town?

  • We understand life happens! You have a few options. You can designate a friend or family member to pick up your bouquet on your behalf. You can donate the bouquet to a local nursing home; we're happy to deliver it. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or credits for missed pickups, as your flowers are harvested specifically for you.

Are vases included?

  • Vases are not included, but we recommend having several simple vases at home. Mason jars work beautifully, too! Wide-mouth jars will be available for purchase during pick up for $3.

What kinds of flowers will I receive?

  • Our bouquets are always seasonal and reflect what's thriving at the moment. Expect a beautiful variety.

Spring: Tulips, ranunculus, anemones, sweet peas, flowering branches, peonies, others

Summer: Zinnias, sunflowers, cosmos, celosia, dahlias, snapdragons, others

Fall: Dahlias, marigolds, amaranth, ornamental grasses, and others

We grow organically and focus on unique, specialty varieties you won't find at the grocery store.

Can I request specific flowers or colors?

  • Part of the CSA experience is enjoying the seasonal rhythm of the farm and being surprised by nature's offerings. While we can't accommodate specific requests for weekly bouquets, we do our best to create balanced, beautiful arrangements in a variety of color palettes throughout the season.

Do you use pesticides?

  • We are committed to sustainable, earth-friendly, regenerative soil practices and do not use synthetic pesticides or herbicides. We use organic growing methods and integrated pest management to grow the healthiest flowers possible that are non-toxic to you or the environment.

How long will my bouquets last?

  • Just like people, all flowers are unique. While some last only a few days, others last for a few weeks. We try to grow varieties that, with proper care, your bouquets should last at least 5 days, though some will last up to 2 weeks. We provide care instructions with your first pickup, including tips on stem cutting, water changing, and placement to maximize vase life.

Can I sign up mid-season?

  • Unfortunately, no. But we have a roadside stand that gets stocked with fresh bouquets as the field provides.

Can I purchase a CSA share as a gift?

  • Absolutely! Flower CSA shares make wonderful gifts for Christmas, birthdays, Mother's Day, anniversaries, or any special occasion. We can provide a beautiful gift certificate and coordinate the details with the recipient.

How do I sign up?

Registration typically opens in November for the upcoming season. Visit our CSA sign-up page to reserve your share. Spaces are limited, and we recommend signing up early!
